The NRS has launched Rev360, a digital tax administration platform designed to embed compliance directly into the natural business systems of taxpayers, reducing the administrative burden associated with manual filing.
Rev360 is not a software upgrade. It is a fully integrated digital ecosystem with direct connections to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), enabling instant data verification and automated taxpayer profiling.
The platform replaces the traditional model of monthly returns filing with an automated digital infrastructure that captures transaction details in real time. This shift marks a decisive move toward what the Service describes as Tax Administration 3.0, where compliance is continuous and embedded rather than periodic and reactive.
The Executive Chairman of the NRS described Rev360 as a reflection of the Service's commitment to building a tax system that functions seamlessly for every Nigerian, strengthens trust in public institutions, and supports the growth of the economy. He added that the initiative is about creating a future where tax administration serves not as a burden but as an enabler of national development.
Ahead of the go-live, the NRS completed a comprehensive nationwide readiness programme involving stakeholders across the tax ecosystem. The rollout will proceed in phases. Medium-sized and emerging taxpayers are the first group to be onboarded, while large corporate taxpayers are expected to migrate in the coming months.
For existing taxpayers, the transition requires no fresh registration. The NRS confirmed that all historical data held in TaxProMax is being migrated internally to the new platform, ensuring continuity and sparing taxpayers the inconvenience of re-entering their records.
The launch signals a significant transformation in Nigeria's approach to revenue collection, moving from episodic compliance checks to a model where tax obligations are met as transactions occur. By connecting directly with foundational identity and business registries, Rev360 also helps close gaps that have historically allowed discrepancies between registered businesses and the tax net.
