Businesses across Nigeria are now required to file all tax remittances through the newly launched Rev360 platform, following the Nigeria Revenue Service's decision to retire its legacy electronic portal, TaxPro Max. The physical unveiling took place in Abuja before an assembly of business leaders, financial experts, and tax consultants, signalling what the agency describes as a fundamental restructuring of the country's fiscal infrastructure.
Representing the Minister of Finance, Ministry Permanent Secretary Mohammed Danjuma stated that technology-driven tax systems are essential to any modern economy. He underscored the Tinubu administration's commitment to expanding the Nigerian economy beyond the $1 trillion threshold, a goal that hinges on creating a predictable and frictionless compliance environment for enterprises.
NRS Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji, PhD, framed the launch not as a routine software upgrade but as an evolutionary leap in how the agency functions. "We moved from a digital administration system to an intelligent administration system," Adedeji said. "It means that we have the data, we have all the endpoints from various transactions that the users or taxpayers will be doing, and then we can actually leverage that intelligence and data to be able to determine whether someone is complying or not. This is the future."
During a technical panel held alongside the launch, senior directors and practitioners unpacked the platform's practical implications. Ini Akpan, Executive Director of Technology at the NRS, explained that Rev360 embeds automated data validation checks directly into standardised reporting templates, compressing the payment cycle in a way that encourages voluntary compliance. Mrs. Bolaji Akintola, Executive Director of the Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, noted that this initial rollout represents the first phase of a wider commitment to streamlining onboarding and improving the user experience for businesses nationwide.
A significant security upgrade addresses a longstanding vulnerability for companies that outsource their tax filings. Under the new system, businesses are no longer compelled to share their primary master passwords with external accounting firms. Instead, the secure consultant feature allows organisations to formally delegate specific filing permissions to authorised professionals while keeping their main account credentials protected.
The NRS is moving swiftly on enforcement. First-time users must log into the portal without delay to reset their old credentials, verify migrated records, and claim their profiles. The agency has made clear that all June remittances must be processed through Rev360, and any taxpayer who fails to comply will face automated penalties starting at N100,000.
To manage the anticipated surge in web traffic and help taxpayers resolve early technical difficulties, the NRS has issued an extraordinary directive: every physical tax office across the country will remain open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until June 27, 2026, offering dedicated walk-in support for teams navigating the migration.
