The Joint Revenue Board (JRB) has opened its 160th meeting, which runs from 1 to 3 September 2026 under the theme “One Year of Tax Reform: Assessing Progress and Addressing Challenges.”
Hosted this year by the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), the gathering brings together revenue chiefs and tax officials from across the country to review the first twelve months since the Nigeria Tax Act and the Nigeria Tax Administration Act came into force.
JRB Chairman Zacch Adedeji, PhD, and Executive Secretary Olusegun Adesokan are leading the proceedings. Kaduna State’s Executive Governor, Senator Dr. Uba Sani, CON, formally declared the meeting open.
A key panel session built around the meeting’s theme is being led by the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, with discussants drawn from the revenue services of Imo, Borno, Yobe, Cross River, Ekiti, and Adamawa states. The panel is expected to examine what the reform has delivered so far and to identify remaining gaps for states that are still working through implementation.
The programme also covers the review and adoption of the 160th meeting’s agenda, presentation of the 2025 Annual Report, and reports from the JRB’s Finance and General-Purpose Committee and its Appraisal and Technical Committee. A communiqué is expected when the meeting concludes on 3 September.
