The National Revenue Service (NRS) has issued a final warning to taxpayers as the Companies Income Tax (CIT) filing deadline approaches, with only 24 hours left before the 30 June cut-off.
In what it describes as a final countdown, the NRS is urging all corporate taxpayers to ensure their CIT returns are filed and any outstanding liabilities settled before the deadline expires. Companies that fail to comply risk incurring statutory penalties and interest charges.
The CIT filing obligation applies to all registered companies operating in Nigeria, and the NRS has emphasised that no further extensions will be granted beyond the 30 June deadline.
